Creation of a specialized medical unit, the "Palliative Care Ward" will provide assistance to patients with incurable diseases and severe conditions. It will help improve the quality of life of patients and their families by alleviating pain and other symptoms.

Rivne Region is situated in the north-western part of Ukraine. It is located at the intersection of international highways and railways. The region borders Belarus on the north. Rivne Region has a moderate continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. Rivne Region is among top three in terms of energy saving. Thanks to local business the economic situation in the region is stable. As a result of 2022, the revenue of the regional budget had a surplus. During the entire time of the full-scale war around 80,000 IDPs found shelter here. Regional exports recovered strongly in 2022 (increased by 5.7%). The major cities include Rivne (regional capital), Varash, Dubno, Ostroh, Zdolbuniv, Korets.
General Information
The project is implemented to ensure war veterans' access to quality medical and palliative care, considering the significant increase in the number of combatants and persons with disabilities resulting from the war. The reconstructed palliative ward will: prioritize veterans with severe illnesses, injuries, and PTSD; employ medical and psychological resources tailored to military conditions; provide a mobile format for veterans who cannot be transported to an inpatient facility; serve as an effective channel for relieving general hospitals.
