Implementation of an Integrated Solid Waste Management System in the Territory of the Pereshchepyne Hromada

The project will ensure 100% population coverage with solid waste collection services, eliminate over 30 illegal dumpsites, and improve the community's sanitation and environmental conditions. It aligns with the Pereshchepyne MTC Development Strategy for 2025–2030 and has strong synergy with other initiatives in the fields of public utilities, safety, and civic engagement.

The Pereshchepyne Municipal Territorial Hromada (MTH) was established in 2018. It is located in the northeastern part of Dnipropetrovsk region and is part of the Samarivskyi district. The community covers an area of 57,390 hectares, stretching along the left bank of the Oril River, at the border between Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions. This waste management project covers the entire Samarivskyi district, which includes 8 territorial communities and has a population of approximately 171,700 people. The community has a well-developed transport infrastructure, significant natural, economic, and intellectual potential, a strong land base suitable for agricultural development, and a natural gas deposit.

The project aligns with the objectives of the Development Strategy, particularly in improving the quality of solid waste management services, developing waste management infrastructure, and eliminating illegal dumpsites. The SWOT analysis identifies the weak condition of this sector and the urgent need for investment. The project is expected to improve sanitary conditions, reduce environmental risks, enhance living comfort, create jobs, and promote environmental awareness. The project can be implemented within a public-private partnership (PPP) framework, ensuring shared benefits and efficient risk allocation.
