About Community

The Zaporizhzhia urban territorial community is one of the largest administrative, industrial, and cultural centers in southeastern Ukraine, with a population of 710,052 people. Approximately 65% of the productive capacities of Zaporizhzhia region are concentrated within the community, making it a key driver of the region's economy. The community also boasts a strong social infrastructure, including 119 general education institutions and 141 preschools, as well as 15 healthcare facilities providing inpatient medical services. Khortytsia Island, widely regarded as the cradle of the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks, serves as a major cultural and tourist landmark of the region. This unique combination of rich historical heritage and powerful industrial development makes the Zaporizhzhia community one of the most progressive in Ukraine.

General Information

The project envisages a comprehensive strategy for the transition of municipal infrastructure to the use of solar, wind and bioenergy. It is envisaged to gradually reduce the city's dependence on fossil fuels, increase energy independence and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Planned installation of solar panels on the roofs of buildings, structures and available land plots at the DVS-1 site. Total capacity: 2.1 MW per year.
